Singer Mike from Manchester based Beats for Beginners was born in Whitby by the sea, shoplifted cassettes from Woolies as a child, moved to Manchester when he was 17. Joined Doves DJS outings in 2007. Picked up an 80's Korg keyboard and wrote some tunes about Robots, love and Julie Christie (woof woof).... Whoooosh...Got a record deal at Faith and Hope Records (Mint Royale, Morning Runner, Alpine Stars) and that's it.

Mike TV singer (Beats for Beginners) and James Doviak (Johhny marrs/Beats for Beginners guitarist) come over from Manchester to DJ alt rock and party electro music with a mini kraftwerky keyboard set....3.5 hours

Paard v. Troje - The Hague
Come see Beats for Beginners live on Thursday 20th September in The Hague's Paard van Troje. Their 3,5 hours live/dj combiset will start at 24:00 hrs as a warmup session for the TodaysArt Festival which will take place the days after, with 200 artists performing at 25 locations in the city centre of The Hague.

Entrance is free for students, others pay € 5 (ex. fee).
